There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den betting is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and even though visas are supposedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most borders.
The original Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that contains many comforts accompanying the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
