Cambodia Gambling Dens

[ English ]

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall gaming is not permitted. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and though visas are allegedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is true of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat gambling den, contains 150 slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that features numerous comforts aside from the gambling den, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight table games.
